The goal of this program is to provide web-based training in the required DOT areas to those working with or around radioactive materials who may make deliveries, prepare packages for delivery, or be responsible for the safe preparation of packages for transport.
The DOT training requirements include:
- General awareness and familiarization with radioactive materials
- General safety considerations for radioactive materials
- Security awareness training
- Function-specific training for those tasks that the employee performs (E.g. packaging, labeling)
Objectives
At the conclusion of the appropriate modules, the participant will be able to:
- Define hazardous materials
- Discuss the general safety considerations associated with the transport of radioactive materials
- Describe the security measures to be taken with radiopharmacueticals.
- Delineate the function specific considerations for different tasks involving the preparation of packages for transport.
